Blue Monkey Events

The site was designed for the launch of events company start-up, Blue Monkey Events. The logo and monkey motif were developed as the brand by Karma creative. I took the existing brand and created the site from it. It's fairly straightforward - xHTML and CSS. Added touches such as the animated navigation menu (scripted using Mootools) give the site a more crafted feel.

On top of a visual design I had to get the site to rank in search results. At build time the domain had been registered for a while but was not even ranking for "Blue Monkey Events", let alone keyword based searches. I initiated a simple SEO campaign on the site and the company (such as Facebook groups lining back to the site and twitter accounts to promote both events and the site), and built it using semantic HTML to get the site ranked in searches.
